General Membership meeting

The annual general membership meeting and elections will be held downstairs in the Pioneer Bldg on January 16th 2012. Social hour kicks off @ 5:30 pm and the meeting will start @ 7:00pm. A number of projects and goals are on tap and major decisions need to be made in the coming year. Potential board members will be required to be actively involved, serve on committees, fill special assignments, and to provide input at monthly board meetings and above all be team player for a common goal - the betterment of the NCW Gun Club.

Also of note... there will be a motion for a dues increase ($10) up before the membership for ratification. If you feel strongly about it one way or another - show up and vote.

Three Officer positions are open, President, Vice President and Treasurer. Each of these positions are for a one year term. Along with these are three board positions, elected to three year terms. To be nominated from the floor, you must be a member in good standing for three years.

A pump shotgun was won @ the Friends of the NRA banquet in 2011... it will be up for silent auction to the members present @ the annual meeting. Minimum bids start @ $100.

Change in Membership Renewal Dates

Effective September 1, the dates for regular 'General' members will run from Sept 1st to Sept 1st, not January 1st to January 1. This change is to allow people who purchase memberships in preparation for hunting season to get full use of their membership for 12 calendar months, rather than having it expire a few months after purchase. If you already have a current 2011 membership i.e. paid up until December, don't worry - there will be special pro-rated rates for people renewing under just that situation. Membership cards are available with full details. There will be an extra lock in place during the transition period - something to be aware of when locking the gate back up!

If you wish to print out a membership form and mail it in, please use this fillable PDF form and mail it to the address on your most recent copy of the newsletter. Remember, valid membership cards will have a serial number on them that can be verified when spot-checked - so please wait patiently for your new key if you mail in a renewal form!

Safety orientation required for 600yd line

If you’ve been up to the paved 600yd firing line lately, you most likely have seen the new signage. Due to the increased risk associated with the long range firing line, access is now for scheduled use or by approved individuals only. Simply put, an approved individual will be one that has gone through a safety orientation with either the High Power Rifle program director, the Casual Shooters director, or their designees.

And remember...

Before you leave for the range, check that you have your membership card with you as well as eye and ear protection for you and any family or guests you are bringing along. Be sure to pay attention to all posted signs and policies around the range for your own safety and that of others. Not knowing is not an excuse!

Leave the range nicer than you found it!!!

Take a few minutes to pick up so we can all enjoy a nicer place to shoot!
